Pilates Classes

  • Pilates With Michelle offers a variety of MELT Release, Strength Pilates Introductory, Essential intermediate classes on both the mat and V2 Max Reformer/Cadillac. Programming will vary week to week to include props such as the Mini Stability Balls, Toning Balls, Fitness Circle Resistance Rings, Platform and Pole, Cardio Tramps, Jump Boards, Twist Boards, and the Zenga (V2 Vinyasa Yoga)/Halo and Fascial Fitness programming.

  • Strength Pilates Introductory classes are perfect for participants that are new to both Pilates on the reformer and MELT. Participants will learn how to stabilize the deep core muscles of the spine, shoulder and pelvic girdle while balancing the nervous system and releasing tension in the muscles that lead to dysfunctional movement patterns. Participants will learn the Five Basic Principles of the STOTT Pilates Method and learn about the Reformer/Cadillac, its set up, benefits and get and energised total-body workout. Space is limited to 5 participants. 

  • Strength Pilates Essential classes will build upon the knowledge and awareness you recieved in the Introductory class. The pace is moderate, yet challenging and will tone muscles, strengthen and provide an invigorating total-body workout. Space is limited to 5 participants. 

  • Strength Pilates Intermediate/Advanced classes will take you through a dynamic, full body workout that focusses on improving flexibility and strength with exercises that lengthen and strengthen all the muscles in the body. Space is limited to 5 participants. 

The MELT Method

  • The MELT Method is a simple self-treatment technique that reduces chronic pain and helps you stay healthy, youthful and active for a lifetime. Just 10 minutes of MELT three times a week is all you need to reduce the effects of accumulated tension and stress caused by daily living. 

  • The MELT Method uses soft foam rollers and a series of small balls to draw fluid in the tissues that surround every muscle, bone, joint, and organ in the body. Adding MELT to your life will help improve efficiency and performance in your fitness regime while enhancing daily life by improving digestions, sleep, and reducing inflammation and accumulated stress, which is the root cause of chronic pain and dysfunctional movement patterns. The MELT Release/Pilates classes at Brownstone Health will introduce you to the MELT Hands-Off Bodywork technique so that you can experience how easy it is to create positive changes in your body. With proper hydration, the muscles work better, the joints have the support and space they need and the whole body is able to find its ideal upright alignment that helps absorb the shock and stresses of an active lifestyle. 

  • The MELT Release classes will balance the nervous system and hydrate the connective tissues to provide the body support and optimal mind-body communication. MELT directly addresses these two systems of your body in a way no other self-treatment can, including diet and exercise. The ultimate goal of MELT is to improve your body's ability to restore balance and repair itself, which can create remarkable lasting changes that offers natural pain relief. 

  • The MELT/Pilates classes on both the mat and Reformer/Cadillac using the MELT soft roller and balls will help to prepare the body for the demands of the Pilates exercises and then as a prop under the ribs, pelvis or along the spine to increase the precision of the Pilates apparatus techniques so participants get a deeper core workout while reducing the risk of injury.
